I started out keeping the books for a CPA. I loved the work, so I earned my finance degree and opened a bookkeeping firm of my own. Then my clients kept asking for more: payroll, then HR, then CFO guidance, and the firm grew in whatever direction their needs pointed.
Somewhere along the way, the businesses I served stopped being a client list and became a community. We refer each other, we look out for each other, and we hold each other to one standard: service first, one on one, every time.
That instinct spilled onto LinkedIn, where I started #TalentTuesday, a weekly spotlight for people looking for work. I put them in front of my network, and my network turned introductions into opportunities.
